There were four current Junior Cup team captains in action for Terenure College RFC U16s on Sunday against Skerries RFC…

In a thrilling game between two great sides, Terenure ran out 39-17 winners over the home side.

The match was played with great skill and attacking intent on both sides, with handling and support lines to the fore.

The Terenure side was notable for the inclusion of the four captains, with Mark Fabian (Terenure College) , Patrick Ryan (Newbridge College), David Donnelly (High School) and Sean McCrohan (Clongowes) all playing a big part in the win after successful Cup campaigns with their school.

It was a great example of rugby’s best qualities – arch rivals a month ago, comrades in arms now!

A memorable game was finished with a dip in the Irish Sea for the victors, with the parents staying safely on shore!
