Over 60 fifth class boys from Kildare Boys National School recently took part in Tag blitz organised by Cill Dara RFC CCRO Eamonn Hyland…

The boys have been taking part in Leinster Rugby ‘Play Rugby’ programme, allowing many of them to experience rugby for the first time.

‘Play Rugby’ aims to teach the skills of the game through fun activities and mini games so that players of all abilities are accommodated.

The blitz included six teams, with each team getting to play a minimum of three games. The windy conditions would have tested the most experienced international players but the boys coped well to display their full range skills.

The boys look forward to another blitz in the coming weeks in Cill Dara RFC, with many national schools from the local area participating. Special thanks to teachers Ms. Kelly and Ms. Scannell for their help ensuring everyone enjoyed the day.
