0n 28th December 2009 Suttonians RFC and the IRFU Charitable Trust came together to undertake the ‘Fat Turkey’ walk around the hill of Howth…

The purpose of the walk was to raise funds for the development of rugby locally and for the IRFU Charitable Trust for seriously injured players.

Peter Murray (President of Suttonians RFC) advised that this was going to be an annual walk and it was aimed also at involving the community more in Suttonians together with promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Peter expressed his thanks to all who took part and in particular those sponsors who had helped, together with the Gardaí and Coast Guard who supported the safety plan on the day. All of the the sponsors are listed on the website www.thefatturkeywalk.com  

Over 500 people took part in the walk which included former Irish Internationals such as Ollie Campbell, Mick Fitzpatrick, Phil Orr, Mick Quinn and many others.
