The Leinster Schools Section ‘A’ team enjoyed a gritty 8-0 victory away to Munster in Midleton RFC on Wednesday afternoon in the first of a two-legged encounter which will conclude next week in Donnybrook…

Both sides dug deep In damp and windy conditions but neither could breach the rigid defences until the last five minutes of normal time when Mount Temple winger Jamie Buckett raced through to score.

The conversion attempt fell wide of the posts, but St. Fintan’s out-half Alex O’Driscoll’s penalty with the last kick of the game gave Leinster a slender 8-0 lead.
