Epilepsy Research Ireland hosted a table quiz on last week at the RTE Sports & Social Club…

The event was a tremendous success and raised the substantial amount of €;2,897, which will go towards research into the causes and treatment of Epilepsy.

Chief Executive of Epilepsy Research Ireland (ERI) Liam Keely said: “We are very appreciative to all each of the 27 teams who turned up on the night and participated in our first formal fundraiser for the charity. It greatly surpassed our expectations. We our also hugely grateful to all those who provided us with prizes for the night.

“Well known RTE Sports commentator Hugh Cahill was our guest MC for the evening and the convivial surroundings of the RTE Sports & Social Club proved a real success. Without the support of our volunteers, sponsors and generous benefactors we would not be able to run a night like this. We are genuinely grateful. We hope to host this as an annual event for Epilepsy Research Ireland in Dublin and elsewhere.”

ERI aims to raise awareness of epilepsy in Ireland; to redress the historic imbalance in funding for research into Epilepsy; to coordinate and fund research projects ourselves; and, through research, drive improvements in treatment, improve patient care and ultimately find a cure for epilepsy.
