Leinster duo Shaun Berne and Kevin McLaughlin have helped launch Age Action’s “Share a Golden Moment Campaign” at Mater Dei Primary School, Basin Lane, James Street, Dublin…

The message of the campaign is to take time out on October 1st UN International Day of Older Persons, to celebrate the contribution older people make in their communities by having a cup of tea with them on their day.

Schools, local community groups and residential homes across the country are organising a “Share a Golden Moment” tea morning to mark this occasion. It is not too late to organise an event in your club, community or workplace, for Age Action.

All funds from the tea mornings will help support our information service. We dealt with 6,000 queries from older people and their families last year. Calls ranged from queries about entitlements and social welfare problems, to calls from older people who were being abused and were seeking assistance.
