Leinster were delighted to welcome the North East Regional Under-17 team who won this season’s Shane Horgan Inter Area Cup played for by representative teams from each region within Leinster…

The North East Under-17 Development Squad is made up from eight clubs; Ashbourne, Balbriggan, Boyne, Dundalk, Navan, Ratoath, Skerries and Swords.
In addition to their normal Boyne training sessions the players undertook additional skills and conditioning sessions under the guidance of Head Coach Wayne Mitchell.
The team beat all four of the other regions by convincing scorelines to win the competition:
South East 7 – 21 North East
North East 30 – 22 Metro
North East 57 – 7 Midlands
North Midlands 0 – 38 North East
