The Leinster Juniors begin their Interprovincial Series this weekend.
Their first match is against Ulster on Saturday, 29 April with the match taking place at Tullow RFC. (KO 2.30pm)
This season’s captain is Athy RFC player Craig Miller (pictured, below right with vice-captain Mikey Russell). Craig is coming off a very successful season with high flying Athy having helped guide his club to successive League promotions from Division 2B, through Division 2A and this season ending in third position in Leinster Division 1B, the highest placing for Athy for many years. This is Craig’s second season with the Leinster Juniors.
Robert McDermott, Team Manager of the Leinster Junior team, said: ‘The players and management are extremely excited about the 2023 Interprovincial Championship. The players have worked very hard and hopefully they will get the reward for their effort. This is the pinnacle for Junior rugby players and all three games present their own unique challenge. This year will be no different and we can’t wait for it to commence.’
