Complaining about the heat in the office? Longing to catch some of the summer sun? Well, these images from Sportsfile taken from Leinster’s pre-season training this week might make you think twice as the squad build up for the August friendly matches against Ulster and Northampton Saints…
The international contingent from the Ireland summer tour to North America and the Emerging Ireland tour to Georgia have joined up with the rest of the squad, while the five British & Irish Lions will link up with the province in the coming weeks after a well-deserved rest following their exertions in Australia.
In a timely boost for the province Gordon D’Arcy, Tom Denton, Luke Fitzgerald and Eoin Reddan were also seen working hard with the rest of their team-mates as they look set to return over the opening weeks of the campaign following their respective injuries.
Included amongst the squad are summer signings Jimmy Gopperth and Ireland second row Mike McCarthy who were put through their paces under the watchful eyes of the coaching team, led by Matt O’Connor.
The Leinster support will get their first chance to see the squad in action in Ravenhill against Ulster on Friday, 23rd August while tickets for the visit of Northampton Saints game in Donnybrook a week later on Friday, 30th August (KO: 7pm) are selling fast.
