While the men’s senior team returned to pre-season last week, Leinster Rugby has been a hive of activity over the summer months as the age-grade teams step up their preparations for the Interprovincial series which kicks off next month.

The Leinster Rugby U-18 Clubs, U-18 Schools, U-19 and U-18 Girls teams have all been hard at work at their bases in King’s Hospital School and the Ken Wall Centre of Excellence.

Mick Bolger, head coach of the U-18 Girls side, has named a 40-player squad representing 20 clubs. They begin their interprovincial series away to Ulster on August 27.

The team are based in King’s Hospital School where the squad conduct all team meetings, strength and conditioning programme as well as all pitch sessions.

The U-19s, U-18 Clubs and U-18 Schools sides will all start their campaigns at home to Munster on Saturday, 20 August.

The U-19 side, who will be led by head coach Andy Wood, have named a 41-man squad for the 2022 interprovincial series and are set for a training camp in Lahinch, Co. Clare ahead of their opening fixture.

Fifteen Schools are represented on this year’s U-18 Schools squad, which has been selected by head coach Brett Igoe.

The 39 players squad chosen to represent the Leinster Rugby U-18 club side has been picked from 23 different clubs.

As part of the preparations, the U-18 Schools side, U-18 Clubs side and the U-18 Girls will travel to Malvern to take on local sides in the lead up to the interprovincial series.
