Last weekend Leinster Rugby delivered an IRFU Foundation Course in De La Salle Churchtown .The course was Co-ordinated and delivered by Leinster Rugby Community Rugby Officers Stephen Gore Coach Development Officer Declan O Brien, Coach Development Officer Dan Van Zyl and Referee s Development Officer David Keane.
This course is designed to ensure that all coaches working with players aged between 13 and 16 have all the necessary tools and knowledge to deliver that best session possible to their players to help these players to develop into our next inter-provincial and international players.
The coaches were delivered modules such as, Role of the coach, scrum and line out, fitness for the young player and General Movement. This course will be followed up by link course that will cover other aspects of the game such as Counter Attack, Continuity and Games Sense these link courses will be delivered by Leinster rugby’s Coach Development Officers and Elite Player Officers.
