Dublin City Sport & Wellbeing Partnership is bringing Dublin Sportsfest back for 2019 after the massive success of the event in 2018.

Dublin Sportsfest will take place from 23rd-29th September coinciding with the European Week of Sport. The purpose of Dublin Sportsfest is to host a week-long celebration of sport and physical activity in the city and to enable and encourage people to participate regardless of age, ability or background.

Leinster Rugby will be hosting a number of activities throughout the week starting on Monday morning when Community Rugby Officer (CRO) for Dublin North Central, Ray McCabe, will be running a primary schools tag blitz in Clontarf.

Then on Tuesday, fresh from their success in the Women’s Interprovincial Championship Final on Saturday with Leinster Rugby, CROs Juliet Short and Larissa Muldoon will host a teachers’ tag event at St Mary’s, Glasnevin.

There will be a ‘Silver Sneakers’ walking tag event on Wednesday and the activities continue on Friday with ‘Go Ballistic’, which will see a number of different sports coming together for an action-packed day at the all-weather pitches on Clontarf Road with CROs Ken Knaggs and Gareth Murray.

On Saturday, Croke Park will play host to a ‘Grow Your Club’ seminar. Speakers on the day will focus n the topics of funding, inclusion, recruitment and retention of women in your club, and a panel discussion featuring many special guests who have a wealth of experience working with clubs, including Leinster Rugby’s own Stephen Maher (CRO Dublin City Central).
