Ahead of the trip to Scotstoun on Saturday in the opening round of the Guinness PRO12 (Kick Off: 5.15pm – live on SKY Sports), coach Matt O’Connor has issued a squad update after training yesterday in UCD.

Dan Leavy suffered a medial strain to his right knee in the Bank of Ireland pre-season friendly defeat to Ulster last Saturday. The injury, while not as bad as first suspected, will still keep the young UCD flanker out of action for between six to eight weeks.

Jordi Murphy is also expected to be sidelined for up to 12 weeks having undergone surgery on a troublesome shoulder injury that had caused him some discomfort during the run in last season.

Finally, Dave Kearney and Richardt Strauss – suffering from long term knee and hamstring injuries respectively – continue to be monitored on a daily basis but both players are recovering well and are on schedule for a return to fitness within the next few months.

The Leinster team to face Glasgow will be named on Friday at midday on www.leinsterrugby.ie and across our social media platforms.

Tickets for our first home Guinness PRO12 fixture against Scarlets on Saturday 13th September (Kick Off: 2.40pm) are on sale at www.leinsterrugby.ie/tickets as are tickets for the Munster clash in the Aviva on the 4th October.
