Leinster Rugby are delighted to support one of our charity partners Aware on World Mental Health Day and their Happy Socks initiative.

Today, 10th October, is World Mental Health Day, and mental health organisation Aware has partnered with Brown Thomas, to encourage men to look after their mental well-being, in addition to raising vital funds for Aware’s nationwide services.

Customers can purchase a Happy Socks gift box that contains three pairs of their funky, colourful socks, at all Brown Thomas stores and online at Brownthomas.com in support of Aware.

Priced at €30, all proceeds will be donated to Aware and will help raise funds for the charity’s nationwide support, education and information services for individuals impacted by depression, bipolar disorder and other mood related disorders.

Aware is a national organisation working since 1985 to provide support, education and information around depression and bipolar disorder.

The organisation also provides positive mental health education programmes, which each year reach 30,000 students aged 15-18; 3,000 employees in workplaces nationwide, and 2,500 adults who are dealing with the impact of stress, anxiety or challenging life situations.

Depression is estimated to affect more than 450,000 people in Ireland at any one time, while 40,000 people experience bipolar disorder. Aware also offers support to people who care about someone who is managing one of these conditions.
