Leinster’s Community Rugby Department have just completed its Level 1 coaching program for the summer.

Over the weekend 40 coaches attended the three day course in IT Carlow. The last of three courses held over the summer months this now brings to 110 the number of coaches that attended the courses.

For coaches to achieve their accreditation they must log 40 hours coaching with their team and be observed coaching their team by one of Leinster’s Coach Development Officers.

Leinster’s Domestic Rugby Manager, Philip Lawlor, commented that ”it was great to see the quality of coaches attending the courses been so high and that is was very important that clubs and schools continued to send their coaches to courses and seminars so that the player experience can continue to improve”.
