Louth County Council in conjunction with Louth Volunteer Centre and Louth Community & Voluntary Forum is proud to launch a Photographic competition to “Celebrate the spirit of volunteering in County Louth”…

To celebrate the European Year of Volunteering 2011, Rosaleen Allen, Development Manager of Louth Volunteer Centre is encouraging all those involved in volunteering or interested in photography to stop and take a few minutes to photograph aspects of the voluntary work they or others do.

“A volunteer offers valuable time, energy and skills to an organisation and this Photo Competition is a wonderful way to capture what they do in a very creative way – and to join in the celebration of European Year of Volunteering 2011 at the same time!

The Competition will create interest and raise the awareness of the importance of volunteering and the integral part it plays in the community.”

Each entry must show volunteering in action in County Louth and a maximum of three photographs are allowed per entrant.  Full details and competition rules and prizes can be found on www.louthcoco.ie or by calling the Social Inclusion Unit, Louth County Council on 042-9324355.

Closing date for entries is Friday 24th June.

The winning photographs will be used for exhibitions, promoting volunteers and their organisations throughout the County in 2011.
