Leinster stars Jamie Heaslip and Cian Healy are giving it some lip to raise money for Action Prostate Cancer through the Irish Cancer Societys Movember Appeal…
From a clean shaven start at the beginning of November, the idea of the appeal is to raise as much money as possible for the Movember Appeal by simply growing the most outrageous moustache possible! By the end of the month these groomed, waxed, teased and trimmed lip ornaments hope to have garned a record number of donations to help fight Prostate Cancer. Irish men have a one-in-eight chance of developing prostate cancer. Prostate cancer rates in Ireland are the highest in Europe and amongst the highest in the world.
Across Ireland too many men are living with the consequences of prostate cancer treatment, often without adequate support and treatment. There are major issues which need to be addressed to improve services for men living after prostate cancer.
The Irish Cancer Society (ICS) has made one of its core strategic goals to transform prostate cancer care in Ireland. The funds raised during the Movember Appeal are helping in achieving this.
The OLSC has donated €;100 each to Jamie and Cians campaigns and would encourage Leinster supporters to give what they can.
