Recently, Monkstown FC in Sandymount hosted a primary school tag blitz that was attended by four schools, Star of the Sea, Sandymount, Kildare Place School, Rathmines, St Marys BNS and St Brigids of Haddington Rd…
The blitz was the result of a six week tag programme run by Ken Knaggs, the new CCRO for the South East area of Dublin City. Ken is tasked with increasing player numbers in the area through various programmes developed by Leinster Rugby and Dublin City Council. You can contact Ken by e-mail at sedccccro@leinsterrugby.ie
MonkstownRFC was a fantastic setting for the blitz with over 200 players in attendance. Club members supplied hot beverages to some very cold but grateful teachers throughout the morning. Even though it was cold morning there was some great tag rugby being played by some very enthusiastic players. It was a great advertisement for Monkstown FC’s mini section and hopefully it will help boost player numbers at the club.
