Sunday 20th of November Mullingar Heifers 12 V 3 Carlow
The Mullingar Ladies regained their winning streak on Sunday in their match against Carlow. The ladies started the match with great pods by the forward pack and exceptional defence by the backs which made it impossible for the Carlow team to get through. They worked brilliantly as a team and it was the hard work of the forward pack that led the first try to be scored in the first half by prop Jennifer Loftus. Jennifer has been propping for the team from the very start of the season last year and it was a well-deserved try for her.
The second half saw Mullingar score another try which was converted by Niamh Kennedy. The ladies managed to put the Carlow team through their paces throughout the whole match but the Carlow ladies managed to get a penalty in the second half which lead to their three points. It was a great match for the Mullingar Heifers and a great boost of morale. It shows that the extra hard work they have been putting in at training in the last few weeks has really paid off.
The ladies next match is on Sunday 27th November away to Kilkenny.
The Mullingar Heifers would like to welcome any newcomers who might be interested in joining. They train on a Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7.30. They now also have a girls under 18s team who train on Tuesday and Thursdays from 7.00 until 8.30. All welcome to come and join.
