The 10th September is the date for the inaugural Navan/Boyne Inter-club Rugby day. This will be an exciting annual event, commencing 2011, which will alternate between Navan and Boyne venues. Navan are the first hosts.
The Challenge involves all representative teams from Navan and Boyne, from minis through to veterans, playing each other on the day in a Blitz style event. Points are awarded for a win or draw in each match. The finale will see the two Senior teams playing at 4.30pm with a trophy awarded after the final match.
A specially commisioned “Sword” will be the trophy for the event.
This type of event has proved to be very popular in the Southern hemisphere where there is a carnival atmosphere as two local towns do battle. There will be a kids entertainment zone on the day, food and lots of fun for all age groups. Entry is free. All are welcome to come down to Navan RFC for the day!
