Stillorgan RFC is delighted to have secured the use of gym and all weather pitch facilities at St. Benildus College, Kilmacud for their training needs…
The club, based from Bird Avenue in Clonskeagh, began Tuesday evening training at the Kilmacud venue last December and hope to add a Thursday evening session at the facility from the start of the 2014/15 season. Presently the training arrangements are 8-10pm (gym and field work) at St. Benildus College on Tuesdays and from 7.30-9pm at Bird Avenue on Thursdays.
Club Chairman Daniel Shanahan feels that the new training arrangements will be of great benefit to the club: “We’re very grateful to St. Benildus College for making their state-of-the art facilities available to Stillorgan RFC. The gymnasium and all-weather pitch facilities are simply excellent, and something we feel will help improve the S&C and skills of our players. We hope that the benefit of the new facilities will be seen in the performances of our teams as the season reaches its climax”.
The club face into another busy weekend of action this weekend with the 1st XV taking on St. Mary’s College RFC (Metro Division 3) while the 2nd XV play Old Wesley in Metro Division 7 (Both Matches take place on Saturday 25 January).
Stillorgan RFC is a friendly club and are always happy to welcome newcomers from beginner level upwards to the club. The club fields three teams – the 1st XV (Metro Division 3), the 2nd XV (Metro Division 7) and the 3rd XV (Metro Division 11, beginner / development level).
