Earlier this month over 105 ladies attended DLSPs inaugural Ladies Only Night at Kirwan Park…

A ladies committee, consisting of Sandra McKeown, Monica Byrne, Gill Nealon and Oonagh Ryan did sterling work in planning this novel event and ensuring it was a huge success.

The event was a fund raiser for the Under-11’s and 12’s, who this April will go on Tour to the London Irish Festival at Sunbury, for the 27th season in a row.

The event received great support and sponsorship from a number of club members and their businesses, with particular mention for Dan McCartney at Super Valu Raheny who were the Corporate Sponsors.

The night consisted of a Ready Steady Cook Display that was organised by Dave Hicks of the Meat Factory Outlet. Dave did an excellent job as M.C. on the night and ensured everyone had great fun as he had known most of the ladies since their sons joined the club at Under-6, where he is Head Coach.

The tickets offered great value for money at €;25 each, for which on arrival you received a complimentary drink of your choice and a complimentary high value goody bag, that included: €;100 voucher from Top Flight Holidays, a 1litre bottle of west Coast Cooler (sponsored by Irish Distillers), a box of Lir Handmade chocolates, a very generous selection of cosmetics donated by Oriflame Cosmetics and a €;10 voucher for the Meat Factory Outlet.

When the Ready Steady Cook event was finished, a tasty 2 course meal was served by Gerry Doyle and his team at the front row restaurant , which was followed by music on the night by DJ Tony Finlay.

All in all, making sure that this night will now become an annual event on the Salmo Social calendar. Well done ladies!
