Leinster Rugby Academy prop Oisín Heffernan will join Nottingham Rugby next season, the English Championship side have confirmed.

The Galway-born forward made his senior Leinster Rugby debut in November 2016, appearing from the bench in a Guinness PRO12 match away to Scarlets, and has been a regular feature for the province’s ‘A’ team in the British & Irish Cup.

He also represented Ireland at U20 level from 2013-2015, making 20 appearances and scoring two tries in two U20 World Championship and two U20 Six Nations campaigns.

Heffernan is coming to the end of his third year in the Leinster Rugby Academy having played Schools Cup rugby with Cistercian College, Roscrea.
