On the 7th of Oct Ashbourne rugby club hosted the North East secondary school girls tag rugby blitz…
The blitz was organised by Leinster CCRO for Ashbourne, Scott Broughton was attended by approximately 120 secondary school girls from 1st-4th year representing five different schools In the North East area.
On a bright sunny morning on the main pitch at the Ashbourne rugby club each school played 4 matches which were played in competitive spirit and with considerable skill on show. CCRO Scott Broughton was delighted with the turnout “it’s been a brilliant day, all the girls enjoyed themselves thoroughly and there was a great demonstration of skills on show“.
Scott would also like to acknowledge the co-operation from the teachers of the school’s and particularly fellow CCROs Liam Mullane (Ardee), Fergus O,’ Boyle (Athboy) and Brian Flanagan (Navan) for making the day a great success.
Schools that took part were Boyne C.S, Athboy C.S, Eureka C.S, Ardee C.S and Ashbourne C.S.
