Last Saturday, there was a great turnout of past and current members at the 2nd annual Palmo Day to be held at Kirwan Park for the DLSP versus Tullamore during the Ulster Bank League game…

All of those in attendance, had at one stage donned the famous green white and black hoops of ‘Palmo’ in their playing career, with so many old friends meeting up on the day, many memorable stories were re told about the great days in Milltown and the early days of the move to Kilternan.

General feedback from those that had no visited Kilternan in a number of years was huge investment that has taken place in the impressive facilities at the grounds at Kirwan Park since the move from Milltown in 1980.

On the day club stalwart Conn Crowley presented the late Ron ‘The Boot‘ Buckleys official Palmerston blazer to De La Salle Palmerston President Ciaran Daly,on behalf of the Buckley family. There was a standing ovation for this, as Ron’s massive contribution to the club was recalled and continues to this day with his grandsons playing on various teams in the clubs mini & youth section.

And what a way to finish off such a great day as the large crowd watched the 1st team win their home Ulster Bank League game. Till next year…
