Ireland recorded a comprehensive 50-7 win over Canada in their opening Rugby World Cup match at the Millennium Stadium.

Tries from Sean O’Brien, Iain Henderson, Johnny Sexton, Dave Kearney, Sean Cronin, Rob Kearney and Jared Payne guided Ireland to victory in their opening Pool D encounter.

The match also saw a return to action for Cian Healy as a second half replacement for Jack McGrath. The match was Healy’s first taste of competitive rugby since he was ruled out of action for Leinster back in April.

Ireland face Romania in their second pool match on Sunday, 27th September, in Wembley Stadium (KO 4.45pm).
