After a dramatic final day of 6 Nations action, Ireland came out on top to retain their title.
The day began with Wales racking up a 41-point win over Italy in the Stadio Olimpico, meaning Ireland would have to beat Scotland by 21 points or more to go top of the 6 Nations table.
Leinster’s Sean O’Brien crossed for two tries in a man of the match performance, with Paul O’Connell and Jared Payne also dotting down in Ireland’s 10-40 win over Scotland.
The day wasn’t over yet, however. All eyes turned to Twickenham and a thrilling game between England and France.
Despite scoring 55 points, England couldn’t reach the 26-point winning margin necessary to dislodge Ireland from the top of the table and the 6 Nations trophy returned home with the men in green.
