Leinster ‘A’ began their season with a win over Munster ‘A’ in an Interprovincial friendly in Donnybrook on Wednesday evening.

First half tries from Billy Dardis and Mick McGrath gave Leinster ‘A’ a 15-3 lead at half-time, and Tom Denton’s try early in the second half, converted by Tom Daly, gave Leinster ‘A’ a 22-3 lead.

Munster ‘A’ came back with two converted tries to narrow the margin to 22-17, but despite yellow cards for Josh Murphy and Bryan Byrne the ‘A’ team defence stood firm and held on for a deserved 22-17 win.
