The last term of school for the year was crowned in Portarlington with a big tag blitz. Over 200 pupils from four schools attended, played great rugby and made new friends in the process…

In the morning, Portarlington RFC was host to students from Kildangan NS and
Clonygowan NS. 12 mixed teams were selected to ensure that everyone have fun
and met new friends. The same concept was used in the afternoon with two
girl’s schools from Monasterevin and Mountmellick. Mixing pupils from
different schools was a huge success as many exchanged contacts so they
could stay in touch!

The organisation of a 24 team blitz would be impossible without the
assistance of Portarlington RFC minis coaches, TY students from St. Paul’s
Monasterevin with teachers and principles from four schools. Portarlington
CCRO Alex Mihajlovic used the opportunity to thank everyone for their help
throughout the year and wished them a sunny summer break saying that he is
looking forward to seeing them all next year.
