Leinster Rugby head coach Leo Cullen has issued a positive update on a number of players today ahead of Friday’s Heineken Champions Cup game in the RDS Arena against Gloucester Rugby (KO: 8pm – live on RTÉ TV and radio).

Charlie Ngatai came through the game at the weekend against Racing 92 with no issues after his return from a shoulder injury.

Speaking to media after the game, Cullen confirmed that both Tadhg Furlong and Johnny Sexton had increased their training load last week and were back running.

He further emphasised that point today with both expected to increase their involvement further this week ahead of Friday’s game in the RDS Arena.

A final call will be made on their availability closer to the game.

There were no further updates on Robbie Henshaw (wrist), Martin Moloney (knee), Ciarán Frawley (knee), Will Connors (bicep), James Tracy (neck), Charlie Ryan (knee) and Tommy O’Brien (knee).
