The draw for the 3rd round of the Provincial Towns Cup which is sponsored by Cleaning Contractors was made on Sunday afternoon in Kilkenny Rugby Club after Kilkenny had beaten Clondalkin 17-7 in their 2nd round fixture. Two 2nd round games required extra time before victories were recorded for Tullamore 2nd XV and Wicklow while the Midland Warriors v Cill Dara tie fell foul of the weather and was postponed at the last minute.

• Wicklow 29-22 (aet) Tullow
• Portlaoise 8-46 Enniscorthy
• Dundalk 22-0 Naas 2nd XV

• Kilkenny 17-7 Clondalkin
• Midland Warriors v Cill Dara – postponed
The draw for the 3rd round was broadcast live on KCLR 96FM and is as follows:
• Tullamore 2nd XV v Wicklow
• Enniscorthy v Dundalk
• Kilkenny v Newbridge
• Ashbourne v Midland Warriors or Cill Dara
Ties to be played on Sunday 16th March at 3:00 pm.
First named teams are at home except in the bottom tie; if Midland Warriors win their refixed 2nd round game against Cill Dara, which has been refixed for 9th March then Ashbourne will be at home, but if Cill Dara win then Ashbourne will be away to Cill Dara.
