Rathdrum Ladies (The Drumettes) have successfully secured their place in the Semi-Final of the Leinster Women’s Cup after topping the table in group 4…

A strong win at home against Newbridge on Sunday, 6th February saw the Drumettes waiting nervously to see if their 25-0 win over the visiting side was enough to secure their semi-final place, after a draw against Tullow two weeks beforehand.

The Drumettes place has been confirmed for Sunday, 20th February seeing them travel to Clondalkin to battle out for a place in the final.

Grainne O’Kelly, Rathdrum Ladies Captain commented on and commended her team mates hard work and determination to reach the semi-final, saying “We are all so proud of our achievement so far this season, and have a great team in place”.

Whilst the Drumettes met Clondalkin at home earlier on in the season and secured a win, O’Kelly says; “We all know what is ahead of us for the semi-final so this week will be crucial in training and discipline before Sunday’s match. We are looking forward to a good game of rugby though”.

The Drumettes welcome all supporters to the game to cheer them on, hopefully to get one step closer to lifting the cup at the end of the season.

Rathdrum Ladies train twice a week (Tuesday & Thursday) 7pm at the Ivy Leaf Grounds, Rathdrum. All new faces welcomed at any level of experience. All enquires to Grainne O’Kelly on 086-3994244.
