In early March the inaugural 4th class Tag Blitz for the Ratoath-Dunshauglin area took place in Ratoath RFC on the Curragha Road…

Over 120 children from the local Primary Schools in the Ratoath Area took part including Ratoath N.S, St. Paul’s N.S and Rathbeggan N.S. while two schools from the Dunshauglin area also taking part; Irish school Gaelscoil Na Rithe and St. Seachnall N.S.

Each school provided two teams of 12 and the blitz went ahead even though the inclement weather did its best to put a halt to proceedings!

This didn’t deter the children and there was some fantastic rugby played. With great help from teachers who came along from each school, the children had great fun who each got to play three matches with all the children getting to participate.

Without the great help given by Ratoath club members, CCRO James Fay could not have made this blitz happen. Each of the children who attended received a Leinster Rugby gift kindly donated by the Branch and the children went home wet but happy.

If your school would like to take part in the ‘Play Rugby Programme’ contact your local CCRO.
