Over 30 clubs, 95 teams and 1,500 young rugby players took part in the annual Seapoint RC Blitz on Sunday at Kilbogget Park, Cabinteely.

The largest event of its kind in Ireland, which has been running for over 20 years, the Blitz attracted teams from all over the country for some fun, running, rucking rugby as the club season drew to a close.

Boys and girls from U10, U11, and U12 played in a series of matches against teams from the four proud provinces of Ireland, watched by some of their Leinster heroes, Adam Byrne, Noel Reid and Tom Daly who came along to lend their support.

There was even a squad from the UK (Hertfordshire, Old Albanian RFC) who made it a truly international event.

Commenting on the day, Seapoint RC President, Jim McKeever said: “We are delighted to welcome these young rugby players to Seapoint RC and to once again host what has become a key event in the calendar of the club. It’s a wonderful opportunity for all our members from the Mini and Youth sections right through to our U20s and Senior teams to get involved and it brings us all together as a one great club.”
