It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Josephine O’Connor (Jo)…

Jo was our Senior Vice President and was to be our first Lady Club President this coming May, one of the very few in Ireland. Despite her prolonged illness Jo was an avid supporter of all things GRFC and attended games up to a few weeks ago, she will be sadly missed by everyone in Greystones RFC and the wider Greystones Community.

Jo had may roles in the Club over the years but as Youth Co-Ordinator she was more than instrumental in the development of the Mini/Youth Section of the Club. From it’s inception in 1985 with 150 players and 15 coaches/managers to over 600 players with 100 coaches/managers today. She had a huge part in the enjoyment we see week in week out in the Club.

Jo died peacefully on February 10th surrounded by her family at S.V.P.H after her long illness bravely borne, beloved wife and best friend of Rory and devoted mother of David and Paul; sadly missed by her sisters Anne, Una and Fiona, brother Paul, grandchildren Roisin and Nola, David’s partner Ruth and Paul’s partner Monika, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at her home today (Wednesday) from 6 o’clock.

Removal tomorrow (Thursday) evening at 4.30pm at walking pace to The Church of The Holy Rosary, Greystones arriving at 5pm. Funeral mass on Friday morning at 10 o’clock followed by Cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium. No flowers by request, donations if desired to www.thecarolinefoundation.com donation box at the Church.

May she rest in peace.
