As an active A.R.L.B. Referee and coach of six years in Blackrock College, Colm Roche looks to take his years of rugby experience into one of Ireland’s largest institutions spread amongst its number of locations across the heart of Dublin…
Having just recently finished his BSc in Sports and Exercise Management in UCD, Colm has built upon his knowledge and experience throughout his studies from moving up through the ranks in refereeing to becoming event organiser of the largest Tag fest on the east coast of Ireland, ‘Bray Tag Fest’.
He now faces the new challenge of developing D.I.T. Rugby Club into a self-sustaining competitive rugby club. Aiming to develop the men’s team to compete at national level, develop women’s rugby and provide opportunities for them to play and develop the Tag rugby through the colleges.
It is hoped that the development of an all ladies Tag league will promote and develop the women’s team in the up and coming season.
Speaking about his new position Colm Roche said: “I look forward to working closely with both the students and staff in developing the rugby club. I look to provide quality rugby programmes, services and excellent sporting opportunities for all the students.”
