Dublin South FM 93.9 is the hugely popular local community radio station broadcasting to the greater South Dublin area.

Dublin South FM was the first Radio Station in Ireland to receive a community Radio Licence in June 1995.The success of Leinster Rugby and Irish Rugby has seen interest in the game grow to record levels, with new players/beginners joining clubs across the province at Mini, Youth and Adult level, and in particular Womens Rugby, remember the famous victory over the All Blacks in the 2014 Womens Rugby World Cup!

 To cater for this surge of interest, Dublin South FM, in partnership with local club, De La Salle Palmerston FC, have launched a dedicated Rugby discussion programme called “Rugby’s Special”.

The programme broadcasts live every Thursday evening between 6pm-7pm,Norman Byrne, who is well known in local and Leinster Rugby circles is the host, and the programme is produced by Bob Hallion, the PRO for De La Salle Palmerston FC.

 Each week, Rugby’s Special features guests chatting about their career/role/views in Rugby. Guests to date have included Tania Rosser (Irish Womens Team), Ian Morgan (Director of Rugby, Terenure RFC), Stephen Hennessy (St Mary’s RFC) and Conor Mc Cormick(Director of Rugby,DLSP),with many more special guests to come over the season.

 

Rugby’s Special also includes a comprehensive discussion between Norman and his guests regarding the weeks Ulster Bank League games, Guinness PRO 12, European Championship and Schools Cup games.
