Rush National School recently completed a five week Play Rugby programme delivered by Leinster Community Rugby Officer, Christian Stemmet…

The five weeks included fun and safe activities to better develop the rugby skills required in line with the IRFU’s Long term player development pathway. Special focus was put on general movement skills, team work and fun games. In total 184 students participated and thoroughly enjoyed their rugby experience.

The school will be taking part in a local blitz to be held at Skerries RFC in January.

Grainne Hughes said: “The children loved the rugby session and a great awareness of rugby has now been created and a close relationship with Skerries RFC.”
