Castleknock College, which is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year, hosted its first ever “Dads & Lads” breakfast at the College recently…

The event, which is held for the third and fourth year students and their fathers, was attended by over 150 people.

The hungry crowd feasted on a Full Irish breakfast while listening to the new Leinster Coach, Joe Schmidt who took a few hours off from his Munster preparations to deliver an inspiring speech to the young rugby hopefuls and their proud fathers.

In reaffirming his coaching and playing beliefs, Schmidt said to the eager students that: “It is not about your goals and objectives. It is about the values you keep in achieving these goals. It’s about hard work”.

The Dads & Lads breakfast is one of three events held for fathers and sons in the college. A Mothers Lunch for each year group is also held in the College throughout the academic year.
