School of Excellence now in session

The Bank of Ireland Leinster Rugby School of Excellence kicked off to a great start last week as a SOLD OUT camp took to the pitches in The Kings Hospital.
250 players took part in the one week camp hailing from as close as Dublin to as far as France and Belgium to avail of the premier coaching, quality programmes and professional training environment.
To supplement the pitch work, Leinster coaches have planned a comprehensive programme that takes into account all aspects of the player’s day to day activity from proper nutrition, recovery, and technical analysis. Following on from the camp, players should have a better understanding of the extra details they can incorporate into their training to help them achieve the competitive edge.
The Bank of Ireland School of Excellence students were treated to talks from panels of rugby experts, Leinster Rugby Academy Player appearances, and nutrition sessions accompanied by an approved menu. Appearances last week were made by Cian Kelleher and Nick McCarthy.
Players also learnt proper gym movements, prehab/ rehab exercises, and participated in daily pool sessions post training. The aim is for players to come out of camp equipped with the knowledge to strengthen their current level and be able to take responsibility for their own development. The camp also gives the young players the opportunity to develop friendships from home and abroad, in a fun rugby oriented environment.
With residential and day camp options, the camp is open to players aged 12- 17, with an exclusive girls-only camp scheduled for the final week commencing 10th August.
