With one week to go until it returns, the hugely popular Bank of Ireland Leinster School of Excellence is set to sell out for the third year in a row with over 1,000 players booked to attend the residential and non-residential camps.

The School of Excellence has been in existence for 20 years and is one of the most successful rugby camps in Ireland, with the aim of developing players and fine-tuning their skills.

With all four weeks nearly full, players wanting to attend and learn to play the Leinster Way should book the last few remaining places before they are gone.

There are residential and non-residential places available on the girls’ camps, which will be run separate to the boys’ School of Excellence camps.

As part of this year’s camp, the Women’s Rugby World Cup trophy will make an appearance in week three, which starts Monday, 31st July.

With one week to go until the Bank of Ireland Leinster School of Excellence gets underway, Stephen Maher, School of Excellence Co-ordinator, said:

“I’ve been involved with the Leinster School of Excellence programme for almost 10 years. Each year, the programme gets bigger and better, and this year is no exception. With the Leinster senior coaches involved as guest speakers, it shows where this camp sits in the Leinster Development pathway.

“We’ve seen players such as Joey Carbery, Tadhg Furlong and Eimear Corri all attend and progress through to the senior ranks at provincial and international level. We are very excited to get our 2017 camps underway.”
