The fourth class boys from Scoil Na Mainistreach De la Salle (Kildare town) took part in a ‘Play Rugby’ Tag blitz, with over 70 boys participating…

The blitz allowed each team to play four matches across the afternoon.

The chilly January weather could not dampen the spirits of the boys as they showcased their new rugby skills after completing the Leinster Rugby ‘Play Rugby’ programme. ‘Play Rugby’ emphasises teaching rugby through fun activities and games, which allows players to experience a new sport and acquire new skills.

A special thanks to fourth-class teachers Ms. Cullagh and Mr O’Connor for their help running the blitz and ensuring everyone enjoyed the day. The boys look forward to taking part in an inter schools blitz later in the year in Cill Dara RFC.

If your school would like to enter the ‘Play Rugby’ programme please contact your local Community Rugby Officer for the Kildare Area Maurice Logue. E-mail –
