Leinster Rugby have today confirmed the pricing model for their 2018/19 Season Ticket offering to current Season Ticket Holders and have also announced a number of new initiatives for next season.

Among the new initiatives introduced include opportunities for mascot for a day slots, Aviva Stadium corporate box give-aways, behind the scenes match-day stadium tours and access to closed Leinster Rugby Captain’s Runs.

Leinster Rugby have also confirmed that there will be a price increase for the first time in three seasons with the average price increase per game for next season at less than €1.50 per ticket.

Speaking to leinsterrugby.ie, the Head of Commercial and Marketing with Leinster Rugby, Kevin Quinn said, “We are very grateful for the support of the 12,229 Season Ticket Holders this season and indeed those that have been part of this journey over the last few years.

“Over the last three seasons we have been able to reward that loyalty with various price promotions and the price increase for 2018/19 is not a decision that we take lightly. Indeed for 10 out of our 14 categories there has been no price increase in four seasons.

“As you can imagine, the price freeze that we were able to offer Season Ticket Holders for the last two seasons in particular proved very popular but with staging cost inflation as well as the critical investment in the expansion of the game across all levels in the 12 counties of Leinster, we have to cover our increased outlay and this is just one measure being taken by us in that regard.”

The price increase announced for the 2018/19 season will take effect from next Monday morning, 26th February 2018, when Season Tickets go on sale to current Season Ticket Holders in the first instance.

The average increase across all categories is 7.2% or just under €1.50 per game.

The 2018/19 Season Ticket will cover entry to all Guinness PRO14 games in the RDS Arena and in the Aviva Stadium as well as all pool matches in the European Rugby Champions Cup and will include interest free payment plan options.

Quinn also gave an update on progress with regard to the redevelopment of the RDS Arena.

“Having secured planning permission, the RDS is applying for a sports capital grant to part-fund the redevelopment. The project is shovel ready and the RDS has financing in place that will enable work to commence, however sports capital funding is crucial to the necessary redevelopment of the Arena.

“However we do not envisage any impact on Season Ticket Holders for the 2018/19 season and the situation will be reassessed ahead of any future Season Ticket campaigns.”

Finally, Quinn also gave assurances regarding the number of games included for the Guinness PRO14 next season.

“Because of the Conference system now at play in the Guinness PRO14, going forward your Season Ticket will cover all games during the regular season regardless of the amount of home games in the PRO14.

“But we have been assured by Celtic Rugby that for the 2018/19 season we will be back up to 11 home games in the PRO14.”
