Organised by the Tallaght Community Council [TCC], Tallafest promotes all that is good about living in Dublin 24, with the festival shining a positive light on the areas of arts, heritage and urban and rural landscape – and most importantly, its people.

At the festival’s launch in Molloys pub on Friday, a diverse representation of the Tallaght community was present to mark the area’s third Tallafest – which will be hosted across a pedestrianised Main Street, St Mary’s Priory and St Maelruain’s Church of Ireland on Saturday, August 15.

Tallaght Rugby was represented by members of the Tallaght women’s team, the Tallaght Youths players Daniel and Nichole Fanning and Shane Foy also a very special appearance from Front Row Freddie the Talented Tallaght Fox. Tallaght rugby will be hosting a stall for the second year in the sports section for Tallafest. Tallaght RFC will have game and activities for all ages and you can meet Front Row Freddie the Talented Tallaght Fox.

Speaking to The Echo, Tara De Buitléar, the chair of TCC, said: “As well as the firm favourites of the balloon release, guided nature walks, farm zone, tower climbs, face painting, creative play, craft workshops, live stage and story-telling, the festival will host some new activities such as yoga classes, a festival art gallery, live history re-enactments for kids, a bake-off, a writer’s workshop and a world record relay running attempt in Westpark.”

She added: “TCC extends a huge thank you to all of the organisations supporting the festival as partners”.
