Over 100 students this week in 5th and 6th class in St Anne’s Primary School, Fettercairn, Tallaght began a six week Leinster Tag Rugby Programme…

There was a real air of excitement when students entered the hall at the prospect of learning and developing their skills for a new sport. The mix of boys and girls made the sessions very energetic with everyone eager to learn. For a lot of student’s this was their first taste of rugby but the transferable skills from other sports made the sessions run very smoothly. The true comradery associated with rugby shone through the sessions as students of mixed abilities helped one another and encouraged each other’s development of new skills and understanding of the game.

The students enjoyed the sessions and are looking forward to developing their skills through the programme and competing in a school tag rugby blitz before Christmas.
