It was with great sadness that the Leinster Rugby community learned of the sad passing of Stuart Mangan, whose bravery had touched the lives of many across the land…
In April 2008, Stuart suffered a devastating spinal injury while playing rugby with his club Hammersmith and Fulham RFC in London. Sadly this sporting accident left Stuart totally paralysed from the neck down.
A number of clubs, school and rugby personalities from around Leinster and Ireland had held fundraising appeals, benefit nights and pledged their support for him in the aftermath of this tragedy.
Stuart was an inspiration to all during his short life and his loss will be felt across the sporting community.
Leinster Rugby would like to offer our sincere condolences to the Mangan family at this difficult time.
