As the summer holidays kick-off, the first of the 28 Bank of Ireland Leinster Rugby Summer Camps get underway today in Wexford Wanderers RFC, Terenure College RFC, Portarlington RFC and Energia Park.

With 24 more camps to take place across the 12 counties over the next six weeks, more than 2,800 boys and girls aged 6-12-year-olds will be taking to the pitch and learning to play the Leinster Way.

There is a strong emphasis placed on the capacities of the players and the rugby-specific coaching will be tailored to each individual group.

The Summer Camps aim to optimise learning, create friendships, improve rugby skills and enhance rugby knowledge while having lots of fun along the way.

All camp participants will be coached by IRFU accredited coaches throughout the five-day camp, which runs from Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 1.30pm, with enjoyment and fun being top of the agenda.

Players from the Leinster Rugby double winning senior squad will visit each camp throughout the week, in what is always one of the highlights for camp goers. This year each camp will also get to see the European Champions Cup and the PRO14 trophy up close.

The Champions Cup and PRO14 trophies will be making an appearance at all four camps this week; Wexford Wanderers RFC and Terenure RFC (Tuesday) and Energia Park and Portarlington RFC (Wednesday).

Limited places remain on some of our summer camps, find your local venue and book a place now as all the camps are filling up fast.
