Coolmine’s inaugural sponsored walk took place last Sunday in The Phoenix Park covering 3km and taking approximately 1 hour – at a very leisurely pace…

The sun shone much to the delight of everyone taking part. The route started from the Papal Cross up to Cross Acres Road and down Kyber Road to the car park at the bottom.

Then it was up the path to the Cricket Ground car park and left onto Chesterfield Avenue and finally turning left onto pedestrian road (before the Phoenix Monument) and on to cross Acres Road into Papal Cross car park. The club’s Under-16s provided stewards for the day. The walkers also took part in a quiz as they participated with prizes being awarded to lucky contestants. All those who finished were treated to refreshments. There will also be spot prizes for all those who hand back their sponsorship cards in time.

A big thanks to all who turned up and supported the event. Also thanks to all the local businesses who supplied spot prizes on the day including Elverys, Dublin Zoo, Captain Americas, Leisureplex, Gamestop, M&S, Crowne Plaza Hotel and BBS (Bachelors Beverage Systems), The Blanchardstown Centre, Lexi Blue, Dantes Restaurant, Debenhams and Rose Confectionary. The younger participants were also presented with gifts from the Leinster Branch.
