In 2008 Suttonians established the Fat Turkey walk to raise funds for the development of rugby in the Sutton / Howth / Baldoyle areas and to raise money for the I.R.F.U Charitable Trust for seriously injured players…

This ambition to help the trust was driven by the desire to give something back to rugby.

On 29th December 2012 Suttonians RFC held their 4th annual ‘Fat Turkey’ walk and race. The walk took the scenic route over Howth head down through Howth village and back to Sutton. The race, with over 400 participants, covered 10 kilometres from Sutton to Howth summit car park and back.

Over the past four years the event has contributed over €;20,000 to the trust.
