Swords RFC is currently seeking expressions of interest for the position of first team coach.

We are a small but growing club who currently play in Leinster Division 2B, Jenkinson Cup and Towns Seconds Cup.

Swords Rugby Football Club was formed in July 2005. The club began life as Aer Lingus RFC and then became ALSAA RFC before changing to its current title. The move was made for a number of factors. Firstly, the club no longer represented the airline or sports ground, though we do continue to playe there. Swords is the capital of Fingal and whilst the town is known more for its GAA and football traditions, Swords RFC endeavour to expand the towns already successful sporting heritage.

We are currently seeking a coach to help grow the club and climb the league having undergone a period of significant change and consolidation

The ideal candidate will:

  • We are seeking an energetic coach who is keen to undertake a challenge with good knowledge of the game. Senior team coaching experience is desirable but not an essential
  • Is minimum IRB Level 1 qualified
  • Have strong technical coaching skills and the ability to work one-on-one with players to improve core & position-specific skills
  • Have a desire to develop players individually and collectively and is understanding that this will include a playing panel of varied experience and including late beginners, to reach their full potential
  • Player development, man management, excellent communication skills and a positive attitude are a must.
  • A desire to continually improve and evolve for the betterment the club is prerequisite
  • Working alongside the Swords Rugby committee to grow and develop the club

What we can offer a prospective coach is a group of committed players looking to improve, eager to face the upcoming season and to learn, evolve and improve as a side.
